You probably think of the summertime when talking about hiking, but imagine this… fewer bugs and people on the trails. That’s what you’ll get in addition to your favorite trails being transformed in the wintertime.
While there’s over 50 miles of trails to explore, these are some of the most popular (and my favorite) ones worth checking out.
Hiking and waterfalls, what more could you ask for? Luckily, Northeast Ohio is in no shortage of either, what with all the stunning parks we have here.
Founded in 1921, the Summit Metro Parks is home to over 15 parks and 150 miles of trails. The Akron area park system has amazing hiking, biking, and horseback riding trails, and other activities for people of all ages.
The Old Man’s Cave area is the most popular spot in the park and consists of more than just the cave. It also includes quite a few waterfalls, a couple of caves, carvings, and more in the beautiful gorge.
People from all over come to hike in The Hocking Hills since it is one of, if not the most popular park in the state of Ohio. With over 10,000 acres of trails, waterfalls, caves, gorges and more, wouldn’t you want to hike this gem?
Some of the best fall foliage views anywhere require some hiking, so below are my favorite hikes that either lead to a beautiful vista or the hike itself is amazing when the colors are changing.
