5+ Sunflower Fields to Visit in Ohio
I think we can all agree that sunflowers make everyone happy. Luckily, Ohio has quite a few sunflower fields throughout the state for the public to enjoy in the late summer and early fall.
Sunflower fields tend to only last 2-3 weeks so be sure to plan accordingly and visit the individual fields website/social media to stay updated.
Maria’s Field of Hope
Located in both Avon and Cedar Point, these stunning sunflower fields were planted to give attention to the lack of funding for childhood cancer. The field was inspired by Maria McNamara, who died of cancer at a young age, and honors the young children who have died from Gliomas. Maria’s parents also started the Prayers from Maria - Children’s Glioma Cancer Foundation which is dedicated to funding research.
The fields are free to visit, with a shop available to purchase items or donate. Check their Facebook page for shop hours.
Dates: Typically blooms in August (Cedar Point) and September (Avon).
